Privacy policy

Last updated November 2, 2026

Dusk is a Chrome extension that shows your course site in a different design. This policy covers the extension and this website.

The short version

Dusk has no servers. Your course information travels from your school's site to your own browser and stays there. Nobody who makes Dusk can see your marks, courses or messages. If you pay for Dusk, ExtensionPay and Stripe handle the payment, and they never receive your course information.

What Dusk reads

While you are signed in, Dusk asks your school's D2L site for the same information you can already see there:

It uses the sign-in you already have. Dusk never sees or stores your password.

Where it is kept

What Dusk never does

Paying for Dusk

Each install of Dusk gets a free month, which Dusk counts on your own computer, so nothing is sent anywhere for it. After that, Dusk is a paid product.

Dusk asks ExtensionPay for its current prices only when you open the plans. If you open checkout, ExtensionPay gives your browser a random ID, and Dusk uses that ID to ask whether you have paid. ExtensionPay runs the plans and Stripe takes the payment. They keep your email and payment details under their own terms. Dusk never sees your card, and it never sends them your marks, courses or messages.

What Dusk does on your behalf

Dusk changes something on your school's site only when you ask it to, for example when you mark a post as read. To do that, it hands your school's own security token back to your school, the same way the site does. For grade alerts, Chrome checks your school's site for new marks about every 30 minutes while it is open, and shows you a notification. You can turn alerts off in Preferences.

Other sites

Dusk talks to your school's D2L site, to the storage service D2L uses for converted documents, and to ExtensionPay as described above. If you use Add to calendar, the link you add comes from your school's D2L site, and the calendar service you choose will fetch it. When you remove Dusk, Chrome opens a short page on this website asking why. Answering is up to you.

This website

This website has no analytics and sets no cookies. It is hosted on Vercel, which may keep ordinary server logs, such as IP addresses, for a short time.

Deleting your data

Remove Dusk from Chrome and its stored data goes with it. Dusk has no copy to delete, because it never had one. If you paid, ExtensionPay and Stripe keep their payment records.

Students under 18

Dusk itself collects nothing from anyone, so this applies the same way to every student. If you have a question about a younger student's use, contact us below.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date.
